Crow's feet around the eyes? Here are your treatment options - MedSkin ClinicThe appearance of our skin changes as we get older. One visible sign of ageing is that of developing crow’s feet around the eyes. These are the fine lines, or wrinkles, that spread out from the corner of the eye. Sometimes they can only be seen when we smile or frown, but others can also be seen permanently. The good news is that there are several treatment options that can be used to make these wrinkles appear less prominent or disappear altogether, including the use of wrinkle removing injections. Let’s take a look.

Creams applied to the eye area

The use of topical creams is one of the first options people try but is often the least effective. Although it is non-invasive, it is mainly used for the treatment of very fine crow’s feet that are incredibly superficial. It usually takes several months to see positive results of using a topical cream.

Anti-wrinkle injections

Anti-wrinkle injections involve the use of Botox to target the muscles around the eyes that can cause crow’s feet. It stops any involuntary muscle contractions, which in turn prevents any fine lines or wrinkles from developing over time. The ideal target age is those who are under fifty, as this is when these types of wrinkles will start to appear. This means treatment will be more effective. The Botox is delivered via a very fine needle.

Skin peels

A chemical peel is another popular treatment option for reducing the appearance of crow’s feet around the eyes. This type of treatment removes the top layer of skin, leaving you with younger and smoother looking skin. Although very successful in treating superficial crow’s feet, it is not recommended for deep lines and wrinkles.

Dermal fillers

Soft tissue fillers, such as Juvederm Ultra, can be used in the treatment of crow’s feet. Dermal fillers work best on static crow’s feet, those which are seen constantly. The filler is injected via a small needle into the crevice to plump out the skin. Dermal fillers can last anywhere from three months to a year.

Here at MedSkin Clinic we offer a range of treatment options to get rid of those crow’s feet. These include Juvederm Ultra, skin peels and anti-wrinkle injections. To learn more about how our team of registered nurses can help you, then please do get in touch with us today.
