Facial Peels

Medical grade facial peels work by dissolving the connection holding dead skin cells together on the skins surface. The process reveals a smoother, healthier skin.

Our skin peels are derived from and may contain: glycolic acid, salicylic acid, lactic acid, trichloroacetic acid (TCA) or mandelic acid, depending, on the peel used. These ingredients will exfoliate the upper, damaged layer of skin and in doing so stimulates the production of new skin cells.

Acne scarring and the unblocking of skin pores are effectively treated by our medical grade skin peels resulting in fewer fine lines, blemishes and age spots. We recommend a series of skin peels to treat acne scarring with improvements being visible after the first treatment.

Skin peels may be used in conjunction with IPL treatments over a course of a few months. Your practitioner will advise on this to obtain optimum results for a refreshed, rejuvenated, smoother blemish free appearance.

Skin Peel Questions

What are skin peels?

At Medskin Clinic we use medical grade skin peels from the Dermaceutic range. Skin peels are an effective treatment for facial blemishes, wrinkles, and uneven skin pigmentation. They exfoliate the outer layers of dead skin, revealing a new skin layer with improved tone, texture, and colouration of the skin’s natural exfoliation. After consultation your practitioner will discuss the most appropriate peel for your desired needs.

How long do results of skin peels last?

Duration of results varies from person to person depending on lifestyle and other factors which will be discussed at your consultation. It is not uncommon for clients to need a course of peels at two to four weekly intervals.

Is the procedure painful?

A slight tingling sensation may be experienced on application of the peel. Your practitioner may offer a fan for coolness and comfort.

Are skin peels safe?

All treatments carry a degree of risk. If skin peels are used correctly by a trained professional any unwanted side effects are minimised however misuse of peels by untrained professionals can cause permanent skin damage, increased and long term sensitivity, altered pigmentation, infection and scarring.
